Fado, fado (ie a long long time ago), when I was a mere slip of a lad, happily drinking myself stupid and wasting a lot of time and effort on things very unimportant, I chanced upon Lowbrow one Friday afternoon, and instantly got hooked. I passed this goldmine of nonsense onto like minded souls. I didn't just recommend it to people, I exposed its brilliance in a long winded rant. Despite this, I don't think anyone ever loved it anywhere near as much as I did.
Then when it needed funds to continue to pay for its server hosting, I put up some money towards it, not much but I was a student at the time, so I still get loadsa karma points. Despite this, eventually it died. Back then it was a .com site of course.
Then a couple of years later, I remembered it one idle day and found it had been saved to some extent as a .org title. It was never the same though. The design was horrible. It looked like vomit. It just wasn't the same.
Now a couple of years later, I re-remembered it one late friday evening when I'm mentally tired beyond belief. Who knows why. So I remember the .org, and typed it in with bated breath to see if it still existed. It did. Then to read the history page and see it has been offline for years and only restored to life within the last month. Hurrah.
This feels like a mini-version of fate. The design while not as good as the original is more than acceptable. I may waste valuable hours on this.
So be it.
